After graduating from business studies at Meiji University in 1982, he directly started working in his family’s ceramics atelier, with his grandfather as his mentor.

KATO Juunidai’s traditional works follow styles like Shino and Oribe, while he also engages himself in developing hybrids of different styles.

After artistic stays in Los Angeles and numerous exhibitions all over Japan, in 2018, for the first time his works were presented in exhibitions in Europe.
